One of the easiest ways of making gil is by questing. Starting out this is how I made the bulk of my money. The best way is to find a convenient, constant, repeatable quest. *Best hunting grounds for flint stones are the Giant Grub's in Dangruf Wadi*

Approx. 40,000 kills will = $1 million gil at this drop rate.
The Merchant's Bidding - $120 - Parvipon (E-8) - SSandy - Fame 1
Rabbit Hide (x3)
* Best hunting grounds for rabbit hides are the Wild Rabbit's in East Ronfaure*
East Ronfaure - drop rate approx. 40%
Approx. 62,498 kills will = $1 million gil at this drop rate.
Fear of the Dark - $200 - Secodiand (F-6) - NSandy - Fame 1
Bat Wing (x2)
*Two best hunting grounds for bat wings by far are Zerhun Mines and Outer Horutoto Ruins*
Zerhun Mines - drop rate approx. 20%, bats also drop Zerhun soot for Bastok quest Minesweeper.
Approx. 50,000 kills will = 1 million gil at this drop rate.
Outer Horutoto Ruins - drop rate approx 52%-58%
Approx. 18,200 kills will = 1 million gil at this drop rate.
*This quest is not cost effective. You will make more selling honey on the auction house.*
Lufet's Lake Salt - $600 - Nogelle (G-7) PSandy - Fame 1
Lufet Salt (x3)
*This can only be obtained by killing River crabs in West Ronfaure*
West Ronfaure - drop rate approx. 15%
Approx 33,333 kills will = $1 million gil at this drop rate.
Thick Shells - $750 - Vounebariont (I-10) - PSandy - Fame 2
Beetle Shell (x5)
*There are three decent hunting grounds to choose from*
Jugner Forest - drop rate approx 22%, Stag beetles have the lowest drop rate but fastest kills and most spawns.
Approx. 30,305 kills will = $1 million gil at this drop rate.
Crawlers Next - drop rate approx 83%, Blazer beetles are often camped for xp parties.Approx. 8033 kills will = $1 million gil at this drop rate.
Garlaige Citadel - drop rate approx 78%, Chamber Beetles are often camped for xp parties.Approx. 8889 kills will = $1 million gil at this drop rate.
Warding Vampires - $900 - Maloquedil (J-8) - NSandy - Fame 3
Shaman Garlic(x2)
*Best hunting grounds for this quest are the Orcish Cursemaker's in Yughott Grotto*
Yughott Grotto - drop rate is approx. 13%.
Approx. 1,7092 kills will = 1 million gil at this drop rate.

*Despite the fact that Uleguerand Tigers technically have a slightly higher drop rate (38.3%), Forest Tigers in Carpenters' Landing are a much better choice. The lower level of the tigers make for faster kills*

Approx 3969 kills will = $1 million gil at this drop rate.
