Sonic Speed!

Notice your mage is a bit sluggish? Thinking maybe all those Witch Stew's or Cream Puffs added some bounce to their ounce? It's probably just your imagination. None the less, this is a fantasy world and you can speed up their casting time anyways!

First up, with an honorable mention is the Warlock's mantle. The latent is active when Red Mage is set as your sub job. Great because of its low level, for Black Mages starting to solo and for Scholars level 68+, otherwise it would be reserved for certain situations as Red Mage is rarely a popular everyday sub job. Down side to this is the lack of supporting stats. Be careful to max out on MND/INT etc. in the rest of your equip so you don't gimp yourself trying to win the casting race. You can snag this back piece from the Toadal Recall BCNM.

  • Reduces spell casting speed by 2%
  • Reduces spell recast time by 1%

The Duelsists Tabard as well as the +1 both offer up an extremely generous helping of Fast Cast. This drops in Dynamis-Beaucedine and Dynamis-Tavnazia. Red Mages, DO DYNA!

  • Reduces spell casting speed by 10%
  • Reduces spell recast time by 5%

This is already a Red Mages crowning glory. Unlike other equipment offering this enhancement, the Fast Cast on both the Artifact and Relic gear is the same as that of the job trait. As of level 60, with only the head piece you are already casting at 60%. Obtained through the Peace for the Spirit quest.

  • Reduces spell casting speed by 10%
  • Reduces spell recast time by 5%

This is a sexy piece for a Blue Mage, I also know of some Dragoons lusting after it as well. You going to need to "acquire" a hind leg from Omega to get this piece.

  • Reduces spell casting speed by 4%
  • Reduces spell recast time by 2%

A staple for many mages with sea access. for 75 Ancient Beastcoins it takes some commitment to get but worth it though it is a relatively small boost.

  • Reduces spell casting speed by 2%
  • Reduces spell recast time by 1%

The fast cast on this ring is active only in Salvage but really, with MND +5 who cares? Okay, maybe Black Mages but we won't ask them this time ~,^. It is a possible appraisal from the ??? Ring in a Periqia but the jury is still out on the drop rate as well as just how much time is cut from the cast and recast time while in Salvage, perhaps... Pi?

Another popular choice for Mages for it's boosts across the board, The Rostrum Pumps are a nice balanced shoe. This can be found as a drop form Alasor Antlion but, you will need to convince some friends to come along and distract his posse while you jack him for is kicks.

  • Reduces spell recast time by 1%

Marduk's jubbah is an awe inspiring piece. It is obtainable from Salvage so unfortunately it is not a instant gratification piece. The full set offers a further fast cast enhancement and for White Mage, Bard and Summoner the full set will give you more fast cast then mixing and matching ANY of the available single enhancement pieces. I hope you have allot of Patience.

Marduk's Jubbah (Body only):

  • Reduces spell casting speed by 5%
  • Reduces spell recast time by 2.5%

Marduk's Jubbah Set:

  • Reduces spell casting speed by 10%
  • Reduces spell recast time by 5%

This piece offers a good amount of fast cast to jobs that otherwise with otherwise limited access. There is nothing remarkable about these unfortunately save perhaps the +5 store TP which is also active only during Campaign.

  • Reduces spell casting speed y 10%
  • Reduces spell recast time by 5%

As I'm sure you have noticed recast is also cut by half of the reduction of the casting speed. Just another one of many mathematical adventures to take into consideration when balancing your gear sets.
