Bare Bones: A guide to Bonecrafting; Levels 1-9

Gear up! So you have chosen bonecraft after all? Well you are in for a ride! Let's get started on your first baby steps towards your new FFXI career.


Bone Hairpin - level 4

Wind Crystal + Bone Chip

• The best day to craft with wind crystals is Ice Day or Darksday due to a reduced loss of material and increase in skill gain.
• Face west during synthesis. This is a popular rumor and hey, it doesn't hurt!Keep and sell any +1 Hairpins that you might make and desynth the rest with lightning crystals.
• Buy the chips from the guild while they are cheap or the auction house if it is comparable. Even if you choose to sell these to an NPC you can still do it at a profit. They sell back for slightly over $100 gil.

• Woodworking is one of the useful sub crafts for bonecraft. Save these for use later when you are woking on that craft. If you have no plans on leveling wood working you can sell or bazaar them in Sandy where the woodworkers guild is located.

One of the nice things is that it does not actually matter if you make this on your own or if you buy it. Grab one off your local auction house, dust it off and hand it in as your own. As they say: "It's a business lie, it doesn't count"
